Original Data Is the Highest-Return Content

Of the three effective methods the Princeton paper tested, adding statistics is the most direct, and the 30–40% relative lift rests on content of this kind.

It is the ammunition for off-site work. Industry estimates put roughly three quarters of citation weight on sources you do not own, and what media and communities pick up is rarely an opinion — it is a number nobody else has.

It also solves attribution: a figure that exists only on your page proves an answer came from you. Without it, page-level effect cannot be judged.

Method: how many questions, how many platforms, how many days, which regions and languages. Miss any of the four and the number is not checkable.

Definition: how a mention was judged, how name collisions were handled, how repeated samples were combined. Write the rule down.

Limits: state explicitly what the data cannot support. This increases credibility — a study that reports only favourable conclusions reads as marketing.

One study, several landings: a long-form page, a press release, an infographic, a founder-bylined piece, the other language version, and a one-page summary.

⚠️ Number discipline: every reuse carries the original definition and date. Losing the qualifiers after two or three retellings is the most common way figures become false.
